SOMAY Acrylic Silicone

Tinted Concrete Stain & Sealer

Clear Chattahoochee & Concrete Sealer

PRODUCT USE: These high quality acrylic silicone Concrete Stain & Sealer and Clear Chattahoochee & Concrete Sealer provide long lasting beauty and are used to seal all properly cured and prepared porous concrete and similar masonry, brick, coral, slate, and Chattahoochee River gravel sur-faces. Since they are a stain and/or penetrating sealer, rather than a paint, they will not chip, peel, flake or wear off.

BENEFITS: Concrete Stain & Sealer and Clear Chattahoochee & Concrete Sealer seal, penetrate, dry rapidly, and are unusually durable. They are exceptionally resistant to: weathering, fading, dusting, mild acids and alkalis, detergents, gasoline, motor oils, alcohol, water or normal wear.

SOMAY Concrete Stain & Sealer and Clear Chattahoochee & Concrete Sealer are recommended for porous concrete and similar surfaces, such as brick, coral, slate and Chattahoochee River gravel on patios, driveways, carports, breezeways, walkways, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, pool decks, as well as roof tiles, walls, tanks, industrial floors, loading docks, steps, ramps, bridges and building facades.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR: Use on uncured or non-porous concrete or other surfaces that are coated or sealed with paint, sealer or stain or contaminated with wax, oil, grease, dirt, dust, mold, mildew, fungus, etc.

SURFACE PREPARATION: The secret of a successful coating job is proper surface preparation. Surfaces MUST be free of anything which is not firm and/or which could adversely affect the penetration of this coating into the surface, including loose, scaling, peeling, blistering, chipping, cracking, flaking, chalking or powdering paint; dust, dirt, sand, soot, grease, oil, wax, soap film; lye, lime, chlorine, salt, calcimine, efflorescence, or any other chemically reactive substance; and must be completely free of all mold, mildew, fungus, or any other growing organism of any kind.

KILL MOLD & MILDEW: Use a 2½% to 5% Chlorine Solution (e.g. "Clorox" household bleach) to completely kill all mold, mildew, fungus or any other organic growth on the surface. This can be applied with a hand-held, 2-gallon, plastic, pump-up, garden sprayer. After all growth is killed, flush the bleached surface thoroughly with clean water from a garden hose

ACID-ETCH: Since a POROUS concrete surface is required for staining, most concrete patios, walks, etc., especially smoothly troweled surfaces, MUST be acid-etched before staining, using at least a 10% muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) solution. Be sure to observe handling instructions and precautions on the acid container label. It will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes for the acid to etch a normal concrete surface, after which the acid must be flushed off the surface with copious amounts of fresh water from a garden hose. When sufficiently etched, the concrete surface will feel like rough sandpaper. After rinsing, the surface must be allowed to thoroughly dry before this stain/sealer is applied.

WEATHER CONSIDERATIONS: Surfaces to be stained and/or sealed MUST be absolutely dry before applying this product. Apply only at temperatures above 50° F. Do NOT apply in damp or rainy weather, in the early morning, when there is still dew on the surface, or late in the afternoon within 3 hours of dusk, in order for the stain and/or sealer to develop a tack-free finish before the evening dew can settle on the surface.

APPLICATION: Stir the stain and/or sealer thoroughly before using and occasionally while using. Can be applied by brush, roller, squeegee or spray; spraying is the preferred application method. This product is ready to use as it is supplied by the manufacturer in the can, and should NOT be diluted or thinned.

CAUTION: Any coating applied to a pedestrian surface may be slippery, especially when wet. User must determine if a non-skid additive should be used for added safety.

COVERAGE: On a properly prepared, porous surface, one gallon (3.79L), should be used to cover approximately 100 to 250 square feet (9.30 to 23.23 sq.m.), depending on the porosity, roughness or texture of the surface being stained and/or sealed.

DRYING TIME: Normally dries to the touch in 30 minutes depending on weather conditions such as sunniness, temperature, humidity, and wind or air movement. Dries hard enough for light foot traffic in a few hours. Whenever a second coat is to be applied, let first coat dry overnight or about 12 hours before applying second coat.

CLEAN UP : Clean brushes, rollers, spray or other application equipment with xylene.
